While getting to know my role, I got more and more additional responsibilities, being able to do the things I like to do on the side as well.

My name is Amit. At the end of my Masters studies at Eindhoven University in Mechanical Engineering) I signed up for an interview with Dow during the ‘Wervingsdagen’, a yearly recruitment event at the TU/e. My first impression of Dow was a really great one: a true science and innovation company, which does a lot more things than just the production of bulk chemicals.

I kept an eye open for vacancies now and then on the Dow corporate website, and just 2-3 months later I found a fitting vacancy. The recruitment process went very swiftly and the following week I already received an answer from Dow that they wanted to offer me a job.

So why Dow? Working here for a few months now, the American style of working definitely fits my personality. I feel part of one Team Dow. Think about ‘Corporate Citizenship’, ‘Empowerment’, ‘Employee Development’, ‘Performance Review’, ‘Goals’, ‘Appreciation’…, these aspects combined create a dynamic, challenging environment for me to thrive in. I like the freedom and the challenges I get, and the fact that my efforts will be rewarded. Dow really cares about its employees, and will let you decide your career. For me the on-boarding program gave me a comfortable landing, and while getting to know my role, I got more and more additional responsibilities, being able to do the things I like to do on the side, just like I did during my studies.

Another thing I like a lot about Dow is its global character. Having such a rich cultural diversity in our company ensures that you will always meet very interesting people! Combine that with all the employee networks we have, such as the Young Professionals, you’re sure to build up strong relationships that will help you for the rest of your life.
