An internal move from Germany to France was the perfect way to merge my technical background and the chemical industry I am now working in.

My name is Guillaume. I have a background in electrical engineering. I started my career in the elevator industry where I held roles in R&D and in general management in various geographies, mainly in Asia. I joined Dow through the General Management program in March 2014 after graduating from IMD business school in Switzerland. I wanted to explore new horizons and the diverse culture at Dow and its global footprint attracted me.

I started out in Schwalbach (Germany) as Business Development manager for the EMEAI region, mainly working as “internal consultant” on various projects across different businesses for about 15 months. That was a great opportunity for me to get to know the company from many angles as well as to start building up a network.

Since June 2015, I’ve transitioned into a Key Account management position in the Electronic Materials business and moved to Grenoble in France to be close to my main customer. This move is a perfect way to merge my technical background and the chemical industry I am now working in, while getting exposure to the market and gaining fluency in customer relationships.

As I just started my new role, I am not sure what will be my next step, but I am confident I will continue my learning path and fuel my personal development at Dow.
