Josep Miquel Cornado – Improvement Engineer

My name is Josep. Ever since I was young, I have been active in organizing or sponsoring different events. At the University Rovira i Virgili where I was studying for my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, I also realized that Dow had a substantial presence locally, as it supports students and sponsors different projects that boost technical aspects and skills within teamwork leadership.

My internship with Dow started in July 2014 and lasted seven months - I worked within the Oilfield team located at the Global Water Technology Center in Tarragona. During that time I had the chance to get to know the culture and workings of a big multinational company, plus get an insight to the communication methods used to communicate effectively, making Dow one of the best companies to work for. And the last but not the least, I learned how important safety is for Dow as I received thorough background information and trainings. Then in February 2015, I joined as a full-time employee, and am now Trainee Improvement Engineer of the Tarragona cracker hot area. My experience so far can be defined by three words: challenging, intense and positive.
