Dow in Germany is pursuing a strategic long-term partnership with the Otto von Guericke University (OVGU) in Magdeburg to ensure a well-filled talent pool. Our cooperation approach regarding OVGU is multi-functional, not only focusing on single disciplines. The university with its different faculties and students as well as Dow as strategic partner will benefit from this relationship.

The Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg has a distinct profile. It shows a lean and sharply-defined (organizational) structure with its main focus on expertise in traditional areas such as engineering, natural sciences and medicine.

In accordance with its guiding principles, the Otto von Guericke University aims at raising the standard of education and scholarship through teaching and research.

More than 1,800 foreign students from 98 countries are studying at this strategic key university.

The OVGU provides numerous international study courses with English being the language of instruction, offers a wide range of international projects (e.g. TEMPUS, Leonardo) and mobility programs (e.g. ERASMUS GO EAST, ISAP). Currently, the OVGU maintains more than 250 partnerships with 240 institutions in 56 different countries. The International Office at OVGU is a competence center for international mobility. It also supports students and employees in regard to preparing international events and/or welcoming international delegations. International knowledge transfer and exchange is being ensured by annual summer and winter school activities involving foreign students at the OVGU.

Dow in Europe aims to develop and establish a premier, long-term relationship with the students, faculty and staff from Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg, enabling Dow to:
